Wild Herb Smoothie (as seen on Garrai Glas)

  • Soak a piece of dried Alaria seaweed (wakame) overnight or at least for 20 minutes and then cut into small pieces or use 1 tsp of seaweed flakes

  • 1/3 – ½ ripe pineapple (depending on size), peeled and cut into chunks

  • 2-4 tablespoons ground hemp or flaxseeds (to thicken smoothie) or 1-2 bananas

  • 1 glass cold water or/and juice of your choice

  • A handful of frozen blueberries or raspberries or a mix of berries

  • 2 pears, cored and cut into pieces

  • Fresh coriander, chopped or/and grated ginger to taste (optional)

  • A good handful of swiss chard or spinach or mixed green leaves or wild herbs like chickweed, dandelion, cleavers, herb robert or herbs like parsley, lemon balm, calendula, heartsease or any other herb of your choice.

  1. Start with blending the pineapple with the seaweed with the soaking water, flaxseed and additional water or juice.

  2. Then add the remaining fruit and blend again.

  3. Now add the chopped greens and blend again until smooth.

 Note

If you cut and refrigerate the pears beforehand the smoothie will be more refreshing!
