Welcome to Neantóg
Neantóg is the Irish word for nettle and the name of our organic farm in Cliffoney, because the cottage we moved in was surrounded by nettles. As well as being our home since 1987, it is where we offer courses, workshops and tours at our Kitchen Garden School.
Nettles are nourishing, healing and energizing and these qualities inspire our teaching on our courses in organic gardening, plant-based cooking, sourdough baking, fermenting and foraging.
Neantog Cookbook, Gaby’s favourite recipes, was published 2008 and is now in its 7th edition.
At Neantog we aim to provide a safe space and a relaxed atmosphere for learning skills and sharing experiences for a healthy and sustainable life.
With more than 40 years of experience growing in polytunnels Hans will answer all your questions about models, siting, cost, growing systems, rotation, propagation, watering, soil fertility, suitable crops and best varieties, and provide an all year round growing plan.
Special emphasis in this Summer workshop will be given to prepare your polytunnel for Winter harvesting and over-wintering crops. Practical sessions include seed sowing and improving soil fertility and trouble shooting.
