Hemp Seed Milk

This milk is a very good and nutrient rich substitute for dairy milk

Hemp seeds are very high in protein, a rich source of Omega 3&6, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc, Vitamin E and A, Vitamin B12, Folic acid and Vitamin D and more…

  1. Soak 1 cup/130g whole hemp seeds in water overnight, rinse and drain.

  2. Place hemp seeds in the blender with 3 cups of water

  3. Blend at high speed for 40-60 seconds or until fully broken down

  4. Strain the liquid through a nut milk bag or muslin and compost the pulp

  5. You can use this milk for any purpose

  6. In smoothies; you could add fruits like blueberries and banana and dates for sweetening milk

  7. In shakes, soups, pie fillings etc.

Tip

-        You can also sprout hemp seeds for one to three days to enhance nutrient content.

-        If you use more seeds and less water the result will be creamier milk.

-        Instead of hemp seeds you can use chia seeds (add some tahini, vanilla extract, honey or agave or even some soaked walnuts to it) or use sesame seeds; the choices are endless!
